Department of Veterans Affairs Nationwide Gravesite Locator

Thought this might be of interest to someone out there.

The following Web site helped me locate my great grandfather’s grave site which, in turn, led to my finding out about his service in the Marine Corps during WWI.

Who will you honor with a memory on Memorial Day?

My great uncle, Leo Edward Walsh, was Killed in Action on November 8, 1942 during Operation Torch which was the invasion of Nazi occupied North Africa. He was part of the 1st Armored Division of the United States Army.
