~Just-a-Thought~

"To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace." Ecclesiates 3:1-8

And Such Were Some of You:

Bible verse

but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified,

but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

~I Corinthians 6:11

Whenever I come across this bible verse, whether in my own reading time or listening to another speaker, it always catches my attention. It is such a powerful reminder of what I once was, what Christ has done for me, and how I need to not “think of myself any higher than I ought (Romans 12:3).”

I think, or rather, I know that some Christians tend to think of themselves as better than those who are living lives contrary to God’s word. I know that I have had this mindset in the past, and have had to work on changing my thinking. It is also something of which I have to constantly remind myself as well.

When my children were younger and they would get together and start talking about someone, I would ask them this question. “Are you perfect?”

They would always answer with a “No.”

“Well until you are perfect, you have no right to talk bad about anyone else.”

They never did have an answer to that statement.

I think that’s also a good question to ask ourselves whenever we feel that pride rising up inside of us, and we want to look down our noses at someone else, or …..maybe even…..gossip (gasp!) about them.

Where or who were you before you knew Christ?

Where would you be right now without Him?
